2005 Waterford Cabernet Sauvignon, Stellenbosch, South Africa

Yet another classic from the Cape's king of Cabernet; Kevin Arnold hasn't put a foot wrong since it all began in 1998.The 2005's a quivering blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 89%, Cabernet Franc 5%, Malbec 3%, Petit Verdot 3%, aged for 22 mths in 40% new French barriques, giving bright graphite, blackberry and violet aromas, hints ints of shaved lead pencil and fennel seed. Broad rich palate with mouth-filling structure. Big, but finely judged tannins.  Enjoy alongside a rare grilled fillet of Karan (!) beef and sauce béarnaise...bet you're thirsty now.
