Though no deeper in colour than the village Savigny, the Premier Cru has greater density of ripe cherry fruit and a finer texture. The finish is impressively long too
The 1er Cru is a real step up in intensity from Potel’s straight Savigny. A fairly powerful bouquet of red plum and cherry fruit and a generous juicy palate seems to defy vintage perception. Fine silky tannins are discreet, but offer a solid structure to the wine and all followed by a finish of impressive length. In one word, terrific.
