2007 Villa di Geggiano, Chianti Classico, DOCG

The Classico region tends to produce fuller, meatier styles of Chianti, and this is a prime example. Extra body is provided by the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon to the Sangiovese. The palate shows plenty of warm fleshy bitter cherry fruit amid a broad structure, softened through 2-3 years of large old barrel & bottle ageing. Drinking now and for the next 2-3 years.
