2007 St Joseph, Lieu-Dit St Joseph Blanc Maison Etienne Guigal

This very distinctive wine is a terrific expression of old-vine Marsanne.
Unctuous peach and pear skin aromas are followed by white pepper, tropical
fruit and hazelnuts. From one of the oldest and steepest vineyards in the
appellation, this is surely one of St Joseph’s very best white wines.

The fat, honeyed, unctuously-textured 2007 St.-Joseph Lieu-Dit St.-Joseph blanc
includes some Roussillon in the blend, but it is dominated by the Marsanne
component. Sumptuous aromas of liqueur of rocks, white currants, quince, and
honeysuckle are followed by a full-bodied, complex, dry white wine to enjoy
over the next 4-5 years.
