High up in the hills of the Var region of Provence, Triennes was founded
in 1990 by Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac along with Aubert de Villaine of
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and their Parisien friend Michel Macaux. The
name comes from the triennia, the festivities held in honour of Bacchus that
took place every three years in Roman times. The Rosé is a blend of old
vine Cinsualt, Syrah, Merlot. The skin contact is brief, the aspiration being a
marriage of elegance and gentle fruit. From the onion-skin colouring to the
gentle rosehip and wild strawberry falvours, it is clear that this has been
achieved with great success.
