The failsafe combination of old vines, skilled winemaking (courtesy of Serge
Remusan) and semi-precipitous vineyards (at over 280 metres) was unlikely to
falter in a year such as 2007, a year when conditions were close to ideal and
when the harvest was collected under an unusually gentle and balmy Mistral. An
equal partnership of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, all hand picked and
then vinified in concrete vats, this is a robust and attractive style, a
typically generous and warming Southern Rhône red, keenly priced and
eager to impress with its bright fruit and peppery spice; ideal for roasts or
modest game.
