2007 Penfolds Reserve Bin 07A, Chardonnay

Very expressive and enticing on the nose, this wine is refreshingly citric and pure on the palate. Its lovely fresh and zingy style reminds me of top class Chablis, while the stoney, clean finish makes you want to come back for another glass.....or three.

As of 2003, Penfolds Reserve Bin 07A, Chardonnay has been made expressly from Adelaide Hills rather than being comprised of off cuts of Yattarna. Very neat and long. You'd love to find this in Meursault! Barrique by barrique filled from the press so no two are the same. There is certainly a little hint of smoke but it's not aggressively oaky. Rich nose with, just, not too much MLF character. Wonderfully juicy fresh fruit. Lemon syllabub. Great zest. The powerful bouquet of this wine leapt out of the spittoon even after I'd spat St Henri into it!
