Lake Neusiedel is the location of this fabulous Seewinkel desert wine, late
harvested, partly botrytised and astonishing value especially given the tiny
yields and the fact that each bunch has to be picked by hand. The blend is
pretty much equal parts of Welchriesling, Bouvier and Pinot
Blanc…….. unusual to say the least, but easily achieving the
sugar level required for a Beerenauslese.
The wine has peach, apricot and damask rose on the nose, then a palate which is
sweet (100 g/l or thereabouts) but extremely pure, refreshing and elegant.
Perfect with foie gras or fruit tart! Up to you , but either will work
well.
