Domaine de Coussergues, an ancient royal estate, has been owned by the Sarret de Coussergues family for thirteen generations since 1495. The domaine lies about 10 kilometres east of Béziers in the Languedoc. Their Pinot Noir is proof that this rather temperamental variety can make good wines south of Burgundy; the nose is generous with notes of strawberry and cherry and the palate is sweet without being cloying, generously fruity without detonating a so-called ‘fruit-bomb’.
