1998 Berrys' Own Selection Blair Athol

Located to the south of Pitlochry in beautiful Perthshire, Blair Athol Distillery, (which spells its name differently to the nearby town, Blair Atholl), was once owned by the Conacher family, descendants of the chivalrous ‘young Conacher’, the admirer of Catherine Glover, the Fair Maid of Perth. This feisty Malt grew up in a Sherry butt and readily imparts toffee and citrus orange to the nose. There is a pleasing depth of intensity heralding what is to come on the palate. Full and sinewy with nutty and toasty notes, this is a rather grand restorative dram with a sweet teasing finish.
