Andre, Louis and Simon Dezat continue to deliver a benchmark plus Sancerre, a
yardstick for many in the region. And despite the pressures of rot and hail,
2008 has turned out to be a mighty fine vintage, whose sweetness and light was
sealed by the ever welcome 'vent du nord' (his mate 'anticyclone'). Weightier,
more richly citrus textured than its stonier Pouilly-Fume stable mate, this
Sancerre has plenty to give and it will be a fine match for trout or goat's
cheese dishes.
