2008 Soave, Vigne di Mezzane, Corte Sant'Alda, Veneto

Looking for something in the same mould as fine Sancerre but with a touch more sun? Marinella's single vineyard, biodynamically farmed Soave 'Vigne di Mezzane' delivers exactly that. The blend of 70% Garganega 30% Trebbiano di Soave draws on Mezzane's fine chalky soil to give us an elegant dry wine, whose terroir expression is boosted by a natural fermentation in oak & stainless steel using wild yeast. Nothing concocted or industrial here, just a lovely bright, pure citrus skin notes on the nose & mouth cleansing & fleshy lemony fruit on the palate, along with an almond twist on the finish. Definitely Marinella's best Soave to date. Drink now till 2012, along with fish or chickeny dishes.
