2008 Morey-St Denis, 1er Cru, Les Loups Domaine des Lambrays

Pretty, pink-purple colour with bright red cherry fruit bursting through on the nose, this is noticeably more intense than the village wine and has an excellent finish.

Pale crimson. Sweet rhubarby nose. Light and fruity and relatively simple. I’d like a little more freshness of fruit, but I’m sure I’ll taste it again...!

Tasted at Flint Wine’s 2008 horizontal in London. This has a spicy nose that rather dominates the fruit. The palate has light red cherries on the entry, a slight hardness that stays to the leafy finish. The Les Loups is fresh, uncompromising and may merit a higher score down the line.
