A great density of fruit is evident from the first sniff, but
Rossignol-Trapet's Chambertin Grand Cru is very intense and tight at present.
There is a great wealth of dark fruit on the palate, again currently very
closed, but showing immense promise for a long term future.

An airy red berry fruit nose that is cut with distinct sauvage hints as well as
undertones of freshly turned earth, cut roots and an herbal note that
complement well the supple, intense and beautifully detailed middle weight
flavors that culminate in a cool, focused and intensely stony finish that is
powerful, balanced and delivers sneaky length. Promising.

Sweet chocolate malt on the nose. Then racy and lively. Lots of punch and
satisfaction even if not the subtlest or most traditional. If you hate
sweetness of any sort, you would hate this. But it offers lots of pleasure and
balance, and race. Lots of fruit, very heady. Lots of solidity. But not an
extra element of excitement. Very slightly low key. No majesty but lots of
simple pleasure.
