2008 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Christian Serafin

Glowing bright red colour with really seductive fruit on the nose and again on the palate. This is all about the fruit, with relatively low acidity and no obtrusive tannins.

A very fresh nose speaks clearly of pungent Gevrey style earth with a mix of upper and lower register aromas of red and dark berry fruits and underbrush hints that carry over to the supple, detailed and lightly mineral suffused flavors that are delicious, persistent and reasonably complex. Lovely if not distinguished and this should reward 5 to 8 years of cellar time.
