2008 Gevrey-Chambertin, Combe au Moine, Domaine Faiveley

This is an absolutely classical Gevrey-Chambertin, with an abundance of fruit up front followed by a more tannic finish. It is beautifully balanced and very persistent, a fine example.

A very pretty mélange of earth, stone, underbrush and humus lend depth to the very fresh blend of red berry fruit aromas that complement the delicious yet entirely serious medium weight plus flavors that drive toward a beautifully defined finish that is long, mouth coating and quite finely balanced.
