2005 Caiarossa, IGT Tuscany
Terrific Bordeaux-inspired super Tuscan, a biodynamic red from Maremma on the coast. 2005 is a delicious mix of eight grapes but predominantly merlot, petit verdot and the two cabernets. Finish this classy red off partly in French oak barriques and you get a cedary, violet scented ’05 that is glorious now but will add layers of rich, beefy, elegance until 2015 and beyond.
(Jane MacQuitty - The Times - 24 April 2010)

Dense and brooding, there is an awful lot going on here. Initially reticent to emerge from the bottle, after an hour in a decanter however and its a vivacious treat. With the grape make up being mainly French there is enough of Tuscany here to lovers of both countries wines. Caiarossa is an estate to watch!

2005 Caiarossa, IGT Tuscany
The 2005 Caiarossa is a rich, concentrated wine packed with dark fruit and French oak. The wine possesses good depth and persistence but the aromatics aren’t perfectly clean or as well articulated as I had hoped. The 2005 Caiarossa is predominantly Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller percentages of Sangiovese, Alicante, Syrah and Mourvedre.
