Set in the heart of St Emilion alongside Cheval Blanc, the wines of Petit
Figeac are often considered the ‘most Mèdoc of St Emilions’.
This is due to the gravelly soil in this part of the appellation, which means
that Château Figeac uses completely different proportions of grape
varieties to other St Emilion producers: 70% Cabernet (half Cabernet Franc,
half Cabernet Sauvignon) and only 30% Merlot.
Crafted to be a stylistic introduction to Figeac itself, Petit Figeac is a micro-cuvée blend coming from some of Ch. Figeac’s best parcels. This exceptional wine encapsulates the unique style of Figeac’s Cabernets, combined with a touch of Merlot, ensuring a silky texture thanks to a very gentle barrel ageing in French oak.
This elegant, stylish and forward St Emilion shows a dark ruby colour and enticing aromas of mint, forest fruit cake, black cherries, and blue currants. Subtle, with silky tannins and a seductive, fruit-loaded style, it can be enjoyed over the next 5-8 years.
