2008 Pinot Grigio, IGT delle Venezie, Necotium, Friuli

This is a significant cut above most offerings of Pinot Grigio at this level. The wine has a discernable rich texture, and both nutty and floral aromas. The wine grows in volume on the palate, completing the expectation heightened by the wine's initial aromas of soft bread and gentle citrus. Although perfectly enjoyable to drink by itself, there is sufficient detail and weight in the wine to complement a wide range of antipasti and primi piatti.
