2008 St Joseph, Domaine du Tunnel

Stéphane Robert’s St. Joseph is sourced, as one may expect, from the southern end of this diverse appellation. The 2008 has a lively nose, which combines notes of eucalypt and tobacco; the palate has energetic sinewy fruit and firm acidity. Early drinking, this is a pleasing antithesis to the more robust style of the Cornas wines at the other end of this particular stylistic tunnel.
