Imperial was built in 1897, the year of Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee
which no doubt inspired the distillery’s name. It was mothballed
(temporarily closed) in 1998 and has not produced since.
The nose is fresh with some vanilla, toffee, coconut and citrus. There is a very citrussy, lively fizzing palate with white chocolate notes and some rum raisins. The finish delivers some lingering sugary sweetness with a molasses edge.
