Glenlossie, founded in 1876 by John Duff, lies just to the south of Elgin. The
distillery was partially rebuilt following a fire in 1929 and was later
expanded to 6 stills from 4. Mannochmore distillery was erected nearby in 1971
to act as a backup during times of high demand.
Berrys' Own Selection Glenlossie offers a seductive nose of coco beans in Hessian sacks, whilst nuts and honey manifest before Indian spice notes evolve. This is a spice warehouse and there is a little of old auntie’s powder pack too. The palate gives succulence balanced by clean hard oak. The depth is meaty and round, again spicy. Lingering and seductive, this is a dram for long contemplation.
