The 2003 Alberdi is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Mazuela (Carignan). Medium ruby in color, it exhibits a nicely developed and expressive nose of cedar, spice, and red currants.
For all the heat of the year, the Alberdi seems unphased, its characteristic elegance as charming and seductive as ever! Light to medium-bodied, seamless, and elegant, this is a bench-mark old-school Rioja, approachable now and deceptively powerful when in the presence of rich Spanish dishes.
