Burgundy 2009 Best Buys
When the energetic Nicolas Potel finds time to sleep we don't know! Not satisfied by running a successful négociant business with an excellent and wide range of wines, he has turned his eye to some personal vineyard holdings under the name "Domaine de Bellene".
All of his 2009 wines were extremely impressive and his St Romain Blanc from Bellene is no exception. Lovely, ripe, tropical fruits fill the glass, which brims with red apples and mangoes. A fleshy body is backed up by grippy acidity and a delicious earthy minerality. Great aromatics, charming structure, excellent price - my best buy of the vintage.

This St Romain from Domaine de Bellene has a lovely lifted mineral and lemon-scented nose, and is perfectly balanced with good length, making it a really lovely example of 2009 white Burgundy.
