Bowmore is the capital of Islay and its namesake distillery nestles at the bottom of the high street on the shores of Loch Indaal. The distillery is one of the few to retain its own malting house which provides a good proportion of the peated barley used to make the Whisky.
This remarkably aromatic Whisky offers trademark peat with leather, yellow fruit and leafy notes. The palate shows sooty smoke and ample fruit and leafy notes. The palate shows sooty smoke and ample fruit with a little pepper and hot sand emerging on the finish.
