Veuve Clicquot Rare Vintage
--
Veuve Clicquot
-- France
Champagne Blend,
12% alc.
This Vintage is made up from twenty villages all classified as Premiers or
Grands Crus, located in the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims regions.
The bouquet is fine and complex, with intense floral and dried fruit aromas.
There is an elegant harmony between toast and brioche notes and on the palate
the wine is firm and well structured, with masses of substance and refinement.
It is the perfect accompaniment to lobsters, scallops and smoked salmon.

Ch. Pavie Macquin, St. Emilion
--
Château Pavie Macquin
-- France
Merlot,
13.5% alc.
"A wine of great density, concentration and intensity, the opaque blue/purple 2000 Pavie Macquin needs considerable aeration, but with decanting the prodigious bouquet of graphite, camphor, blackberry, blueberry, mineral, coffee and smoky oak finally makes an appearance. Persuasive, expansive, full-bodied and muscular, this enormously endowed, rich wine looks set for a long life, at least 3 decades. A terrific effort that rivals the compelling 1998. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025." 95/100 pts. (Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Apr-2003)

Ch. Rieussec, Sauternes
--
Château Rieussec
-- France
Sauv.Blanc & Sémillon,
13% alc.
(Wines of the Year - Highly Recommended 4/5 Stars- Decanter Nov 08)
This majestic Rieussec provides further proof, if any were needed, of the
fantastic quality of the sumptuous 2003 Sauternes. This also restores this
noble estate to its position behind Ch. d'Yquem in the Sauternes hierarchy.
Tingling aromas of pineapple, honey and lemon are replicated on the
phenomenally concentrated and powerful palate, lifted by fresh acidity, and
enhanced by a cornucopia of flavours: dried apricots, dates and tangerines and
hints of ginger. A monstrously impressive wine in every sense.

Chardonnay,

The 2005 Corton Charlemagne from Domaine des Croix is a full-bodied, pale

Berrys' Own Selection Glenlivet, Single Malt
--
Glenlivet Distillery Speyside
-- Scotland
46% alc.
Glenlivet has a long established reputation for clean, subtle, elegant and
flowery Malt Whisky. This famous distillery by the glen of the Livet, which
flows into the mighty Spey, was the first licensed operation in Scotland and
soon set the benchmark for quality distillate. The aromas are remarkably bright
and clean considering the 36 years in oak. Apricot, heather honey and smoke
show through the tannins. The flavours seep from the malty creamy body of the
spirit delivering elegant, buttered toast and peach notes. A graceful long
finish adds to the pleasure.
