Veuve Clicquot Rare Vintage
--
Veuve Clicquot
-- France
Champagne Blend, 12% alc. This Vintage is made up from twenty villages all classified as Premiers or Grands Crus, located in the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims regions. The bouquet is fine and complex, with intense floral and dried fruit aromas. There is an elegant harmony between toast and brioche notes and on the palate the wine is firm and well structured, with masses of substance and refinement. It is the perfect accompaniment to lobsters, scallops and smoked salmon. |

Domaine des Croix

Chardonnay, 13.5% alc. The 2005 Corton Charlemagne from Domaine des Croix is a full-bodied, pale golden-coloured wine. This is an attractive, relatively forward Corton Charlemagne which should drink very well in the next two to three years. |

Graham

Graham
-- Portugal
Port Blend, 20% alc. The 1970 ports were tasting sublime at our annual tasting extravaganza (The Port Walk, November 2010). Personally I think the wines are giving the 1963s a run for their money, qualitatively, riding as they are a wave of perfection, which shows no sign of crashing to the shore. The Graham has softened beautifully, with notes of rosehip, wild honey, sloes, mocha and fig, enveloped by silky tannins and the gentle glow of spirit. (Simon Field MW BBR Buyer) Vintage notes: Magnificent wines with abundant ripe fruit flavours and concentrated tannins. The harmony and balance of the best 1970's wines is quite simply outstanding. The best 1970’s should be ranked amongst the all time greatest Vintage Ports produced in the Douro. After more than thirty five years of ageing, these wines are currently in perfect balance but they will continue to age gracefully for many years to come. |

Berrys' Own Selection Glenlivet Single Malt Cask 64502
--
Glenlivet Distillery Speyside
-- Scotland
46% alc. Glenlivet has a long established reputation for clean, subtle, elegant and flowery Malt Whisky. This famous distillery by the glen of the Livet, which flows into the mighty Spey, was the first licensed operation in Scotland and soon set the benchmark for quality distillate. The aromas are remarkably bright and clean considering the 36 years in oak. Apricot, heather honey and smoke show through the tannins. The flavours seep from the malty creamy body of the spirit delivering elegant, buttered toast and peach notes. A graceful long finish adds to the pleasure. |
