2006 White, drink-now
Pouilly-Fumé, Domaine Nicolas Gaudry -- Domaine Nicolas Gaudry -- France
Sauvignon Blanc, 12.5% alc.
"Nicolas continues to deliver a benchmark example of this famous, limestone-rich appellation. With a crisp, floral, white stone-fruit perfume, a light/medium-body and a deliciously fine, unadulterated, pure, textured palate. This is Nicolas’s third vintage. He’s just moved into a small dwelling in the prime  village of Les Loges; closer still to his beloved vines which perch overlooking the river Loire. No fancy tricks here, just pure Pouilly-Fumé…as nature intended. Perfect with the likes of white-bait (preferably fished from the Loire)."

Sancerre, Domaine André Dezat -- André Dezat -- France
Sauvignon Blanc, 12.5% alc.
Mineral nose and lovely satin texture. Ready to go. One of the more convincing Sancerres I have come across recently.

Sancerre, Jeunes Vignes, Domaine François Cotat -- Domaine François Cotat -- France
Sauvignon Blanc, 12.5% alc.
Compared with his old vine single site wines (Monts Damnes, La Grande Cote, Culs de Beaujeu) from the prized Chavignol enclave, Francois has produced a fruitier, more accessible stony-lime pure Sauvignon Blanc wine. A great introduction to this remarkable estate."

Pouilly-Fumé, Triptyque, Domaine Alain Cailbourdin -- Domaine Alain Cailbourdin -- France
Sauvignon Blanc, 12.5% alc.
"From the red flint south facing soils of Les Renardieres, just below Les Cocques and the village of St.Andelain comes this thoroughbred of a Pouilly-Fume, born of 70 year old vines and elevage in 25% new french 300 litre tonneaux. Immensely pure and detailed on the nose, with stony, crushed oyster shell fruit aromatics which are gently supported by a cushion of finest oak. The palate at this embryonic stage of its life swells with tension, a lovely weave of shellfish and citrus fruit, sublime ripeness and exquisite balance. Worth decanting beforehand. Bravo Alain!"
