Earthy red berry fruit aromas introduce a beautifully detailed middle palate, with intense earthy and meaty flavours . This red Bourgogne wine is a lovely effort that is drinking perfectly now that should continue to do so for another 4 years at least.
The last few vintages have shown a freshening up of the Sérafin style, though absolutely not at the expense of the concentration which is a hallmark of this domaine. The concentration of the fruit comes from their meticulous work in the vineyards, the fresher style from a little less extraction during fermentation. Christian himself thinks that 2010 is notably more concentrated than 2009 and as everywhere else, yields are down this year.

Top Value Wines from the 2010 Vintage
Mild reduction knocks down the fruit but not the earthiness that carries over to the rich, concentrated and delicious medium-bodied flavors that are supported by rustic tannins and very fine length for a wine at this level. In particular I like the full-on character this wine displays as it’s definitely not a wall flower. Worth considering. 2014+
