This is a fabulous vineyard that is in very good hands. Ravishing, high-toned fruit lead the senses of this graceful, suave and fine-boned Gevrey-Chambertin that shows excellent length.

2010 is year three of the ‘new’ Faiveley style and they have again delivered an excellent set of wines. They picked from 20th September to 29th, beginning with Côte d’Or whites. The new regime has concentrated on an overhaul of winemaking principles, leading to a refinement of style. Next up will be a renovation of their Côte Chalonnaise cellars. They have also been expanding significantly into the Côte de Beaune, especially for white wines.

Sweet Spot Wines from the 2010 Vintage
(from a huge 2.05 ha parcel). A brilliantly layered nose of impressive depth and breadth speaks of similar aromas as the Combe Aux Moines though this is more Gevrey in character. This is a powerful wine with plenty of mid-palate concentration to the amazingly rich, intense and tautly muscular flavors that culminate in a mouth coating, balanced and astonishingly long finish. A classic Cazetiers with everything that it needs to reward 15+ years of cellar time. 2025+
