87% Sauvignon Blanc and 13% Semillon. 2010 was a slightly cooler year than 2009 and the longer growing season seems to have imbued this vintage with a shade more complexity as a result. A small percentage, 6% to be precise, was barrel-fermented and this adds a touch of richness and texture to the finished wine. The bouquet boasts the anticipated aroma of gooseberry but also displays notes of tropical fruit such as guava, nectarine and grapefruit. On the palate the wine is bone-dry but the acidity is not searing; it balances perfectly the ripeness of the fruit and the finish is long and crisp. Excellent with asparagus and with fresh grilled seafood.
