The Languedoc must rank as one of the most exciting, varied and under-rated regions in the world of wine. Join Simon Field MW for a guided tour, which will whisk you from the Pyrenean foothills all the way to the penumbra of the Southern Rhône, thereby examining the extraordinary diversity of the great vineyards of the Mediterranean.
There will be particular focus on those enclaves which have latterly established themselves as the greatest in the region; Pic-Saint-Loup, St Chinian, Les Terrasses du Larzac, Boutenac and La Livinière, their finest wines now achieving international recognition, and their leading exponents now firmly ensconced within the pantheon of greats.
Wines to be tasted:
Berrys’ Extra Dry, Crémant de Limoux
2008 Le Soula Blanc, Vin de Pays des Côtes Catalanes
2010 Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc, Vin de Pays de l’Hérault
2009 'Grande Cuvée' Blanc, Domaine de l'Hortus, Vin de Pays du Val de Montferrand
2010 Les Cocalières Blanc, Domaine d'Aupilhac, Côteaux du Languedoc
2010 Ch. de Pennautier, Cabardès
2009 ‘Le Chant des Cigales’, Domaine La Linquière, St. Chinian
