Wonderful though it is to focus on the classic names of Burgundy, sometimes we can miss out on a plethora of hidden gems by ignoring the ‘outsiders’. Martin Hudson will tonight take you on a tour of these étrangers and help you discover the excellent potential for quality and value which can be found in these more unfashionable locations.

Amongst others you will investigate the white, red and rosé of Marsannay in the Côte de Nuits, explore the steely mineral whites of St Aubin and Auxey-Duresses as well as the robust red of Maranges in the Côte de Beaune, and moving further south to the Côte Chalonnaise you will delve into the delights of softer Chardonnay from Montagny and Rully.
