Fine Wine & English Asparagus, Food & Wine Matching, 17 May

This event proved a huge success last year as our ingenious Head Chef Stewart Turner created a range of heavenly dishes to celebrate the wonderful spring delight that is English asparagus. We are giving him the challenge once more and have even invited back special guest William Maitland Biddulph, winemaker at Hampshire’s award-winning Wickham Vineyard, to showcase his fabulous French oak-matured ‘Wickham Fumé’. Alongside this top-notch English wine you will try a range of other gems from around the world, mainly whites but also including a rosé and a light red. The white wines will feature grape varieties like Godello, Albariño, Viura, Fiano, Vermentino, Arneis, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Chardonnay, hailing from countries as diverse as Australia, Spain, Italy, New Zealand and France. Join us for what will be a fascinating and utterly delicious evening.
