One Day Introduction to Burgundy Wine School, Friday 5th June 2009

This course is designed for those just starting out on the fascinating journey of discovery of Burgundian wine. Martin Hudson MW will de-mystify Burgundy via a tour of its famous communes. As you stop at each village you will taste top examples of its wines: the elegant reds of Nuits-St Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin, as well as breathtaking whites from Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Chablis and Pouilly-Fuissé. He will also explain the quality hierarchy of generic, district, commune, Premier Cru and Grand Cru styles. Needless to say a fantastic array of Premier and Grand Crus wines will be served at the Burgundian lunchtime feast.
