A wine with real depth and intensity, this Volnay hits far above its weight. It has a perfumed nose of brambly dark fruit, a palate that is beautifully integrated with smooth tannins and a sweet finish of red cherry.

Showing a beautiful purple with a really classic pinot nose, there is plenty of substance here with beautiful deep red fruit and a little tannin at the back. This is another great red from Dominique Lafon.

The former Domaine René Manuel has been purchased by investors, the vineyards being split between Domaine des Comtes Lafon and Domaine Roulot while Dominique Lafon himself has moved production of his own label wines to the Manuel cellars in Meursault, as well as gaining some Bourgogne Blanc vines. Though Dominique operates officially under the status of negociant, all the wines are domaine grown and bottled except the Bourgogne Blanc, which will be next year.
