An elegant St Aubin wine, sumptuous on the palate yet with a fresh finish and attractive perfume. The finish develops superbly but this needs time.

Benjamin Leroux has managed to produce almost as much wine in 2010 as he did in 2009. Some of his grape contracts were short because of the low crop in 2010, but he has been able to compensate with some new sources of supply. 2010, Benjamin’s fourth vintage, is a great success in both colours.

Soft wood frames a pretty nose of citrus, ripe pear and elegant floral nuances. There is good richness and a subtle minerality to the well-detailed and attractively vibrant flavors that possess good length and a lovely sense of harmony. At present there is only average depth but my predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt that more will develop with a few years of bottle age.
