A lovely density of brilliant purple colour greets the eye of this cracking inexpensive Burgundy. There is real concentration here in a vigorous fresh fruit style, redolent of summer pudding. It has a lovely finish to boot.

We have been dealing with young Mr Magnien for several vintages and have this year we have decide to promoted his wines to our En Primeur brochure for the first time. He is not related to other Côte d’Or Magniens as far as we know, most of the vineyards come from his mother’s family which originates in the village of Meloisey, whence comes the exceptional Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Clos de la Perrière.
