Description

Vina Casa Marin is a family-owned winery located in the San Antonio appellation which despite its relative altitude is one of the closest vineyards in Chile to the Pacific Ocean. Cool is an all-embracing word here, describing winemaker, wines and, most precisely, temperatures and climate.

Casa Marin was founded in the year 2000 by Maria Luz Marín, and its relatively modest plantations are shared by Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Riesling. When thinking of Sauvignon Gris, one should contemplate the style and texture of a Pinot Gris rather than a Sauvignon Blanc. This has smoky orchard fruit aromas, a rounded pleasing viscosity, almost Alsatian in style, and a crisp clean finish.
