This wine is a part of ‘Collection Bellenum’, a ten year project by the négociant and Berrys’ supplier Nicolas Potel, in which time he’s amassed about 7,000 cases of choice Burgundies. Nicolas has great contacts among the many vignerons of the region, some of whom have stashed away considerable stocks of old vintages, and he’s handpicked around 160 of these wines. He’s done this by tasting over 2,500 wines and after working with no less than 26 domaines.

This wine, as with all of the wines in this ‘Collection Bellenum’, has his mark of approval, signified by Potel’s ‘Roche De Bellene’ négociant label. The wines also have the original corks. This way, you can work out the terroir of the wines.

This wine shows the elegance one would expect of a fine Burgundian Chambolle.
