2010 Langhe Nebbiolo, Coste, Ferdinando Principiano

Langhe Nebbiolo, Coste, Ferdinando Principiano
Bottled on the 15th August 2011, this is one of the prettiest, crunchiest examples of Nebbiolo around. Drawn mainly from Ferdinando’s plot of young vines in the Serralunga vineyard of Boscareto, the 2010 vintage shows the benefit of the sandy calc soils & a western exposure that soaks up the afternoon sun.

The nose bright with raspberres, ethereal, leafy fresh. To taste there’s lots of crunchy, spangly fruit, punchy too, plenty of rose petal fragrance, of flesh too. Made only in stainless-steel, stabilised naturally outside in the cold winter, the wine’s sensibly bottled with 50mg of sulphur dioxide as protection. This is a delightful, easy drinking introduction to the brilliant world of Nebbiolo!
