2004 Sarget de Gruaud Larose, St Julien

Sarget de Gruaud Larose, St Julien
For Sarget de Gruaud Larose, 2004 was a vintage of great purity, displaying overt cassis aromas on the nose and refined red fruit characteristics on the palate. The tannins and acidity are in perfect harmony with the fruit and the finish is long. Sarget is a very refined example of St Julien, never flashy but extremely rewarding and good value for money. Excellent with lamb and hard cheeses. (Alun Griffiths MW, Wine Director)

The second wine of the prestigious 2eme Cru Classe, Ch. Gruaud Larose, this is a soft, silky and very approachable red Bordeaux.
Recommended by Jane MacQuitty in The Times.

Gruaud Larose was classified as a 2nd Growth in the 1855 classification and still retains its position today as one of the leading lights in the St Julien appellation. Most of the top estates now produce a second wine but Gruaud was a pioneer in this field. With Sarget, the aim is to offer a wine which bears all the hallmarks of the Grand Vin but in a more approachable style which can be drunk young.Château Gruaud-Larose
