2010 Diamantakis Winery, Vidiano White Greece

Diamantakis Winery, Vidiano White Greece
Made from the indigenous vidiano grape. It is a rarity, with an unusual character that unfolds with food. Honey, almonds and, with food, smokiness.
(Kate Spicer, The Sunday Times, 5 August 2012)

Berrys offer the fine 2010 Diamantakis Vidiano White,  a distinctive dry white wine from Crete with a smoky whiff and a peachy opulence....Today UK wine retailers, such as Berry Bros & Rudd, have taken up the Greek cause and added a small but significant raft of Greek wines to their ranges.
(Anthony Rose - The Independent - 23-Jun-2012)

Vidiano is one of Greece's numerous interesting indigenous grape varieties, a very obscure white wine from Crete. Big, complex, honeyed, almost oily, a highly individual and very attractive wine.
(Andrew Neather, Evening Standard, Discerning Drinker, 10 May 2012)

A really unusual, complex and intriguing wine. The bouquet combines notes of honey with almondy, nutty aromas, quite concentrated. On the palate there is excellent balance with fresh acidity acting as a counterpoint to the weight of ripe fruit. Drink with prawns in a spicy sauce, or light poultry dishes.
