Denis makes the most of the warmer Reuilly climate, compared to Sancerre's river influenced one, by producing wine from 4 hectares of Pinot Noir. This wine comes specifically from his 'Pierres Plates' vineyard and reminds me of a Marlborough Pinot Noir on account of its crunchy, yet slight, redcurrant fruit.

It's pretty and pure, benefiting from the fine 2010 vintage & comes to without oak. Indeed this is Denis's wife, Annie Jamain's favourite wine, that's never before been imported into the UK, probably on account of only 100 dozen being bottled - so we are lucky! Drinking now but will keep, along with smoked river fish.
