2011 Ch. Haut-Brion Blanc,Pessac-Léognan

Ch. Haut-Brion Blanc,Pessac-Leognan
If La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is Arnie then this must be a young Sean Connery. You have to reach a little harder in the glass for the nose here, a little less direct perhaps but certainly more complexity. It envelopes out with every sniff and is a lighter foot than the La Mission with an ethereal like palate. The fruit is packed in tight but it almost haunting how it glides around the palate with such poise and precision. Again there are so many layers here and it is the freshness of acidity that guides it to an expansive finish that lingers on and on. Very special. 2018-2040.

Ch. Haut-Brion Blanc,Pessac-Leognan
Features a chiseled feel for now, with a blanched almond edge and a vibrant quinine note taking the lead over salted butter, floral, verbena and gooseberry notes. There's terrific depth and length, but a youthful rawness that needs to settle in.
