2007 L'Intemporelle Rosé, Grand Cru, Champagne Mailly

L'Intemporelle Rose, Grand Cru, Champagne Mailly
Only 5000 bottles of this nectar are made. The ensemble is, slightly counter-intuitively, lighter in colour and more delicate than the NV rosé, salmon colouring ceding to onion skin and a hint of amber.

The wine is made up of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, the latter more significant than with the Brut, lending more finesse and hints of Mirabelle plum and nectarine to the already sophisticated fruit character . This is a truly outstanding wine; Mailly recommend that it will go with ‘Langoustines à la framboise’ a slightly unusual combination, but who are we to disagree?
