Whilst wading through a largely uninspiring range of lesser Margaux wines it was a real pleasure to come across Ch. Cantenac-Brown. The wine showed a lovely bouquet of sweet, ripe red and black fruit, a real density of fruit on the palate and although it has taken quite a flavour of new oak in these early stages of it's maturation, I am confident that this will become integrated into the wine in due course before bottling.

A masculine, structured, tannic effort, Cantenac Brown’s 2011 reveals a deep ruby/purple color, clean fruit on the attack, and hard tannins dominating the finish. If the wine’s structure softens, this will be a very good to excellent wine capable of lasting 15-20 years.
