Fortunately, Basile Tesseron is far more capable than Basil Fawlty! There is streamlined pure blackcurrant and cassis fruit here, with a floral lift and a blueberry bounce to the nose. You feel life and energy here, and the palate doesn’t disappoint, offering purity of fruit with a nice touch of spice from the well balanced oak. There seems to be more focus and roundness to Lafon Rochet than I remember. It is a real crowd pleaser.
