The blend is remarkably similar to that of Léoville Poyferré, with 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Ripe blackberries and plums dominate the nose, and there is a lovely gentle succulence on the palate with a fresh, lively acidity and a fine balance on the finish. A really good second wine and one which is usually attractively priced. Let’s hope history repeats itself!
