La Dame de Montrose, St. Estephe
This wine is very much in line with some of the most serious châteaux this year. La Dame de Montrose remains true to the faith of the Grand Vin but doesn’t try and emulate it. It’s lighter but still sweet and rich and is somehow less stern. It’s more frivolous, more fun and built for far earlier satisfaction than the magnificent Ch. Montrose, but it is lush, with lovely weight and poise.
